Self Love

Girls these days start way too young,
Hence their childhood is just flung.
Does anyone care of the values we teach?
Self-love is what parents should preach.
But instead their minds are filled with hate,
The way they feel will soon escalate.
Girls should be taught to forget flaws,
Instead get fake nails that look like claws.

Way too young all the makeup starts,
I get for some people it’s a form of arts.
But little girls don’t need to cover up,
They’re kids for god’s sake not grown-ups.
Fake tan, foundation and false lashes,
Their true beauty is turned to ashes.
Beauty is on the inside, that’s what counts,
Stop buying makeup save your bank accounts.

I get the feeling, I’ve been there,
But this is a whole new level of self-care.
It gets to a point where it doesn’t feel good,
Your damaged hair hid under a hood.
Plastic injected into your boobs and face,
Feeling obligated to- it’s a disgrace.
Gets to a point where you’re in danger,
Your body begins to look even stranger.

Don’t eat today said the voice inside,
But skinny models shouldn’t be your guide.
You’re amazing in your own way,
And that is how you should stay.
Don’t feel scared you’re not like the others,
Or soon you won’t be like your sisters and brothers.
But please do whatever makes you happy,

Remember no one cares if your thighs are flabby.
